Computer organization and architecture
|
Course Objectives:
This course teaches the internal architecture of the computer. It also teaches the internal components of the computer, how they are integrated together, and the way they are controlled.
Course Content:
- Number representation in binary system.
- Boolean algebra and numerical logic (basic rules, derive formulas - simplifying formulas - logical integrated and assembled circuits).
- Binary groups (half and full).
- Central Processing Unit design.
- Addressing methods.
- Interrupts and direct access to memory.
- Memory and processing unit models.
- Parallel connectivity.
- Operating system and improving performance.
10. Discuss and evaluate technical developments old, modern, and available computers in the market.
Skills expected from this course:
1. Understand the structural design of the electronic device includes computer processors and memory.
2. Knowledge of logic design in the district level.
3. The ability to build small logic circuits.
4. Evaluating the performance and working of the computer.
