Principles of Information Systems

Course Objectives:
This course aims to give students introduction to the basic concepts of information systems within the commercial and administrative frameworks. The description and cover the basic concepts of design, construction and use of information systems. Identify the components of information systems software and hardware. Learn the basics about the theory of course-making and methods. Knowledge of means of data collection, compilation and analysis using some statistical software packages and office productivity programs specialized for use in course-making process at different levels. Recognize the importance of planning methods and databases used in course-making.

1. Introduction to information systems and classifications.
2. Design, implementation and use of information systems.
3. Components of information systems hardware and software packages.
4. Introduction to course theory.
5. Data collection, classification and analysis electronically.
6. Understand the process of course-making at various levels within the constituent.
7. The importance of building and using databases.

Skills expected from this course:

Upon finishing this course, the student should:

1. Full knowledge of the concepts of information systems and their basic components and methods of use.
2. Knowledge of methods of analysis, design and implementation of information systems and how they are used to support course-making.
3. Knowledge of the theory of course-making.
4. Learn the basic skills of methods of data collection, collation and presentation of the course-maker.
5. The ability to use some statistical software packages and the ability to be used in data analysis.
