Database Administration

Course Objectives:


This course aims to introduce students to various methods for the design and implementation of databases, the study of database systems and distributed architectures the server - the client, and enable the student to manage and secure distributed database systems.


Course Content:


1. Introduction to database systems and concepts (relational databases - Object Oriented - Object Oriented relational).
2. Database design and put it in an idealized method.
3. Systems to provide three layers of the server - the client: the external level, conceptual, procedure.
4. Concepts of distributed database systems: Transcription - cutting data - customization techniques - Control of data recovery and synchronization operations.
5. Security of distributed databases.

Skills expected from this course:


1. Understanding of systems, different databases and the ability to make a comparison between them.
2. Learn techniques of distributed databases and the ability to use efficiently.
3. The ability to manage databases distributed effectively and disaster preparedness to test him (crash databases or part thereof).
